Common Questions
Frequently Asked
Do I need experience to join?
No experience is required for any of our services. All classes are designed to welcome complete beginners. Coach Courage builds from the fundamentals — stance, footwork, basic combinations — so every new athlete starts strong regardless of background.
What age groups do you accept?
We welcome athletes starting at age 6. Our Bronze Class is designed for ages 6–10, Silver Gloves for ages 11–15, and Golden Gloves is open to ages 16 and up with no upper age limit. The Women's Self-Defense class is open to all adult women.
When do classes run?
All group classes run Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Women's Self-Defense class runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30 PM to 9:20 PM. Personal Training sessions are available by appointment with flexible scheduling.
How much does membership cost?
Your first class is completely free with no commitment required. For ongoing membership pricing and available plans, visit our Membership page for full details on monthly and seasonal options.
What equipment do I need to bring?
For your first class, just bring comfortable workout clothes and athletic shoes. No boxing equipment is required to get started. Coach Courage will advise you on gloves, hand wraps, and protective gear once you decide to join.
Is there actual sparring involved?
Sparring is introduced gradually and only when athletes are ready — never forced. Beginners focus on technique, bag work, and pad drills. Controlled sparring is introduced in Silver and Golden Gloves with full safety gear and coach supervision. The Bronze Class and Women's Self-Defense class do not include contact sparring.
